Obiettivi formativi

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The course aims to provide students with a good knowledge of the morpho-functional aspects of the hexapoda and a systematic classification of the main orders of Insecta. Some methods of analysis and recognition of insect taxa (for example, sounds and anatomical characters) will be examined in detail during the practical activities in the laboratory. Some etho-ecological characteristics of the most relevant groups will be commented

Risultati dell'apprendimento attesi

LEARNING OUTCOMES

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
Once completed the course, the student must have acquired a good knowledge of the main Orders of Insects in order to be able to easily recognize them on the basis of their morphological characteristics. You must also have acquired sufficient information useful for applying the most modern methods to carry out taxonomic and etho-ecological investigations.
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
The student must be able to apply the knowledge acquired in different fields and especially in those of fauna, environmental management, biomonitoring, biogeographic survey, thanks also to the knowledge acquired through the other courses of the Animal Conservation and Biodiversity curriculum.
JUDGEMENT
The acquired knowledge must allow the achievement of a good degree of independent judgment, both in the field of activity and in the laboratory one.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
The course should allow the students to communicate their specific knowledge clearly and sufficiently in depth.
LEARNING SKILLS
The student is expected to acquire good learning skills on the basis of the material provided on the Moodle and CampusNet platforms, and during the activities of the virtual and face-to-face labs

The assessment will be through the final oral examination. The student will answer questions of varying importance to check its preparation. The final grade (../30) will take into account, as well as the specific preparation, also the quality of the exposure and the use of appropriate terminology and adapted to the specialized course.
